Appropriate Technology Transfer for Rural Areas (ATTRA)

ATTRA is the national sustainable agriculture information service operated by the National Center for Appropriate Technology. ATTRA (http://www.attra.ncat.org/) is my first stop when researching an agriculture related topic. Their Beekeeping/Apiculture publication is available online. Check it out by clicking here. NCAT has a office in Butte, so look for their booth at sustainable agriculture events through out the state.
The photo shows a Varroa mite on the abdomen of a honey bee. It would be akin to you having a mite the size of a dinner plate on your back. Ouch!
